Help Us Learn...Give Us Hope: KGTC Service Project
Many Kansas not-for-profit organizations have service projects. Being selfless is one of the most important messages that we can give to our children, gifted or otherwise. To that end, the KGTC Board of Directors has searched for a service project that our students, teachers, administrators and others could get behind. The kernel of the idea was to help our troops by sending books with soldiers for them to read in their down time while in battle areas. Then we ran across
Help us Learn...Give us Hope! The idea of our kids helping Iraqi and Afghan children by providing supplies was very attractive. As we learned more, we found that used books and supplies could also be sent to the kids. Locker cleanout at the end of the school year should be a gold mine! Our cost to administer this program is nearly non-existent. You see, materials can be collected as a student project. Once collected, they can be taken to ANY Kansas National Guard Armory as long as they are marked the organization's battle areas. The national Guard troops will take the supplies with them.
