Focus on Writing Workshop

Skilled and professional writers will present two workshops in the morning in the William Allen White library followed by lunch (on your own) sponsored by the International Students. The day concludes with a keynote by William Allen White Children's Book Award recipient, Andrea Warren.

Kansas Association for Gifted, Talented and Creative is a not-for-profit advocacy group in the state of Kansas is dedicated to promoting identified Gifted and other high achieving students. KGTC is officially affliated with the National Association for Gifted Children
(NAGC). We have been designated as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service and are registered with the Kansas Secretary of State as a not-for-profit organization.

 OUR MEMBERSHIP

Our membership is made up of Gifted Facilitators, general educators, district and building administrators, other special educators, parents, and students. With several hundred members across the state, we only see further growth in our future.

OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED

We offer a variety of student opportunities including the Legislative Day, the Nicholas Green Scholarship, Space Camp in association with the Cosmosphere, and sponsor the Duke TIP Program for Kansas. For parents, we offer periodic workshops to help them better understand the unique characteristics of their gifted/high achieving students. For teachers and administrators, we also provide periodic opportunities for professional development as well other resources.

  • Students are invited to submit their finest creative work to help celebrate the great legacy of educator and creativity pioneer Dr. E. Paul Torrance, author of more than 2,000 tests, articles and books.
  • Students are invited to submit their finest creative work to help celebrate the great legacy of educator and creativity pioneer Dr. E. Paul Torrance, author of more than 2,000 tests, articles, and books.

  • Each Year, KGTC sponsors two youth to complete space camp at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson. This opportunity is a life-changing event for youth attending. Highlighted activities include: space shuttle simulation, rocketry, and robotics. Scholarship applications are due March 28th.
